My Trip to Yosemite National Park

IMG_7902

I’m glad that everyone enjoyed my Napa Valley post so much!  We truly had an amazing time. After visiting Napa on Wednesday and Thursday, the Hubs and I said goodbye to our friends, packed up our car and made the 4 hour drive to Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevadas. After two days of apples and granola bars for breakfast, the Hubs was excited when I said that we could drive through McDonald’s during our trip.  Egg McMuffin and a coffee for me – while driving no less After making our way to the Yosemite View Lodge in El … Continue reading

My Trip to Napa Valley

IMG_7719

As you probably figured out from my teaser post, I went on a little vacation last week To celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary (I can’t believe that it’s already been 6 years!), the Hubs and I traveled to California on Tuesday night.  We spent Wednesday and Thursday in Napa Valley with some friends and Friday and Saturday in Yosemite National Park.  Because the two locations were so different, it was almost like two separate vacations!  Accordingly, I’ll be breaking up my recap into two separate posts. Now, let’s talk about Napa Valley and all of that vino! After taking a … Continue reading

Ginger Buttercup Squash Soup

Close-2

One of my favorite things to do during Fall is to put on a cozy pair of sweatpants, my zip-up hoodie and a pair of fuzzy sucks, and plop myself on the couch with a blanket, a bowl of warm soup and a DVR full of trashy celebrity shows like Keeping Up With the Kardashians stimulating documentaries. When I saw this buttercup squash in the supermarket the other day, I knew that I had to have it.  I’ve used butternut squash, pumpkin and kobacha squash in the past, but this little round guy was a mystery to me. After some … Continue reading
