Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving Day is a time to reflect on what you’re truly thankful for. I consider myself so lucky to have such amazing friends and family.  I’m thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.  I’m thankful for my amazing husband and my adorable dog.  And most of all, I’m extremely thankful that my life has been full of so much joy and happiness.  I consider myself extremely lucky. This year, I was so happy to spend Thanksgiving Day with my entire family in my hometown of Clearfield, PA. And finally, I’m thankful for all of YOU!  Thank … Continue reading

Le Bernardin

Octopus

Tonight my sister, brother-in-law, the Hubs and I took part in a very special dining experience.  We dined at Le Bernardin – the three Michelin star restaurant of celebrity chef, Eric Ripert.  Known as a master of seafood, Ripert delicately prepares his cuisine as “almost raw”; “barely touched”; or “lightly cooked”.  Le Bernardin is just one of the five 3-star Michelin restaurants in New York City and was named the 11th Best Restaurant in the World by Restaurant magazine. Fall-Flavored Treats

There are many, many things that I love about the Fall season: The fresh Fall air The colors in the trees College football Pumpkin Apple picking Fall fashion etc… I also love all of the *specialty* items that come out in Fall.  Like pumpkin-flavored goodies and cinnamon-spiced drinks and lattes.  Over the past two days, I got to try two Fall-inspired ice creams and I loved them both! Monday night I tried Baskin’s Robbins Trick or Treat Oreo.  Holy yum!  This vanilla ice cream is loaded with black and orange goodness – orange filled Oreos, Butterfingers and Baby Ruth. Tuesday … Continue reading

Wedding and Family Visit

Tortulaci

This weekend I traveled to my cousin Adam’s wedding in Binghamton, NY.  They hired artists to do caricatures for all of the guests at the reception, which I thought was a really cute idea   Notice the resemblance? Before driving up to Binghamton on Saturday morning, the Hubs and I got up early to do a 4-mile run outside.  Hubs and I are trying to increase our running distances, so this was his “long” run for the week.  Done and done. During the 3.5 hour drive, we snagged some Dunkin Donuts.  Turkey sausage and egg white breakfast sandwich for me.  … Continue reading

Charleston, SC – Day 3

Donut-Queen

If you missed my first post about Days 1 & 2 in Charleston, SC, you can check it out HERE. On my last day in Charleston, SC, we decided to conquer the Arthur Ravenal Jr. Bridge, the Western Hemisphere’s second largest cable-stay bridge. There is a popular sidewalk walking/running/biking lane that runs the length of the bridge structure and then some for a total of about 3 miles one-way. Before we set out, we nabbed some breakfast at Saffron.  Upon seeing the buffet, I decided to go with that option so that I could load up on fresh fruit, which … Continue reading
